The Patna Metro Rail Project is a state-of-the-art mass rapid transit system (MRTS) designed to cater to the growing transport demands of Patna. Phase 1 consists of two main corridors with a total length of 30.91 kilometers:

• Corridor 1 (Red Line): Spanning 16.86 km from Danapur Cantonment to Khemni Chak, connecting the western residential zones to the central business areas. It features both elevated and underground stretches.
• Corridor 2 (Blue Line): Spanning 14.45 km from Patna Junction to New ISBT, connecting key railway stations, bus terminals, and educational hubs.

The project is being executed by the Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) under the technical supervision of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). It is financed primarily through a soft loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), ensuring the adoption of top-tier international standards for construction quality, safety, and efficiency.
